She displays a lot of the traits that Jack Russell Terriers are known for—Kady loves to play fetch and enjoys jumping and twirling in mid-air to catch toys. She has a lot of energy packed into a small body, and is looking for an adopter who can help her burn off that energy into a positive outlet. Kady’s adopter will want to enroll her in an obedience class as one way to channel her energy and help her focus and establish a good relationship with her new family (in addition to learning good dog manners and new tricks!). She will be great at agility, too! Kady would do best with someone with some dog experience, and children over 8 years.

She is a nice puppy who loves to play with squeaky and stuffed toys. She is learning about a lot of new sights, sounds, and experiences here and can become nervous with everyday things that are new to her. Chi Chi is doing a good job of acclimating to the shelter and has made new friends easily. She is eager to spend time with people so she can show them how sweet and fun she can be! Chi Chi would be perfect for a first time dog owner, and children over 8 years.

She takes awhile to become comfortable with new people, but once she does, her fun and goofy side emerges. She already knows quite a few commands, including “sit”, “down”, and “shake”. Sye is an intelligent girl who would be a excellent student for additional obedience training and would enjoy all varieties of dog games and activities. Sye is looking for a quiet home with an adopter who appreciates her intelligent, sensitive side. She would do best with someone with dog experience, and children over 8 years.

Sua (“Tiger” in Thai) and his sister Sui (“Pretty Girl” in Thai) are a bonded pair looking for a home in need of two sweet companions! Sui is a diva who loves attention and keeping her brother Sua in line. Sua is her best friend, and also her guide, as Sui’s vision is not very good. Sua is a laid back boy who loves being with his sister. Sua and Sui would do best with someone with some dog experience, and children over 8 years.

Penny is a sweet, mature girl who is looking for a new home where she can settle in for lots of head rubs and snuggle in a comfy dog bed! Penny spent her whole life with one owner, so she is a bit worried right now and wondering why she is here. Despite the transition, she is still social and will jump into your lap for head rubs. Penny is also a very animal-social dog, having lived with another dog and as many as 11 cats in her previous home. For this reason, Penny must go to a home with another animal for companionship, since at this point in her life, it may be difficult to adapt to life as an only pet. Penny would do best with someone with some dog experience, and children over 8 years.

He is a fun, happy-go-lucky dog with a lot of great qualities. Spencer is affectionate and quite eager to please, and likes to be near people—especially if he can get a head rub and do his best to crawl into your lap! As a hound, Spencer loves to explore with his nose, following interesting scents, so his adopter will want to make sure they enforce the “four on the floor” rule and prevent him from helping himself to good-smelling things on the counter. Spencer would do well with a first time dog owner, and children over 8 years.

He can become a bit stressed when meeting new people and situations, but once he becomes more comfortable, Rocky relaxes and loves attention and head rubs. Rocky is an energetic young guy who is looking for someone who can provide him with plenty of exercise and training to help him grow into a great adult dog! As with all hounds, Rocky is led by his nose to investigate new scents, and will always need to be on leash when outside of his home. She was found abandoned on the side of George Washington Parkway in a carrier, and is partially blind. Despite the circumstances, Georgia has developed into a happy fun dog while she's been at the shelter. She is able to get around perfectly fine as long as things do not move around the room too much. Georgia has discovered the joys of squeaky toys and also loves long walks in the park! She beginning to think she is a lap - dog and is very contented curled up beside her human best friends. Georgia is looking for a quiet home and would be perfect for a first time dog owner, and children over 8 years.
