Boomer is very playful and is looking for a new home where he will never want for cat toys. He is very friendly and loves meeting new people. She was brought to the shelter from an overcrowded rural rescue group in West Virginia and is looking forward to finding her forever home. Maggie enjoys spending her time playing with cat toys, especially her catnip mice. In fact, you might even notice her talking to her catnip mice! Maggie is a little shy around strangers, but warms up nicely when you treat her to some gentle affection. She enjoys pets, head rubs, and chin scratches. Maggie is an independent girl and would prefer not being held. Maggie has a very tolerant personality and would probably enjoy living with other cats or a cat-friendly dog. Maggie is already spayed. Thank you for your interest in Celeste. She is a 9 year old Domestic Short Hair. Celeste is a beautiful and incredibly sweet kitty looking for a wonderful forever home. She loves being petted or brushed on any lap, nearly as much as her other hobby - napping on people. Celeste wants to be as close to you as possible, and is happy to sleep under the sheets, or by your cheek on your pillow if you let her! She responds to any attention with an enthusiastic purr and some lovely head butts. Celeste has a very tolerant personality, and only protests something she dislikes with a plaintive meow. She will roll over for tummy rubs, and also loves to play with wand toys. Celeste enjoys the company of a very cat-friendly dog in her foster home, but is not comfortable around other cats - she will be happiest as an only cat. Celeste is already spayed. Celeste is currently in a foster home, but arrangements can be made if you'd like to meet her. Just stop by our Adoptions desk at the shelter and ask to meet her!

She was brought the shelter because someone in her previous home developed asthma. Pearl is still a little confused about why she’s at the shelter, so is quite understandably a little nervous about meeting so many new people. But she’ll warm up nicely if you talk softly to her, provide a little reassurance, and give her some gentle pets. You’ll see in no time that Pearl is a very affectionate girl. She loves being treated to lots of head rubs, chin scratches, and cheek scratches. Pearl also enjoys luxuriating on comfy cat beds and would be more than happy to keep you company while you’re reading a book or watching TV. Pearl is a very sweet girl and has a ton of love to give. Thank you for your interest in Galaxy. She is a 5 month old Domestic Short Hair. It's summertime and we have LOTS of kittens here at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria! We don't post all their pictures, since kittens get adopted faster and the faces are always changing - but if you are looking for a kitten, come on in and check out our beautiful babies! Kittens, like all of our cats, go home up-to-date on shots as is appropriate for their age and health, spayed/neutered (or with a certificate for the same), FeLV/FIV tested negative, dewormed and microchiped. Lots of ages, colors and personalities to choose from! Galaxy (left) was brought to the shelter with her sister, Milkyway (right, already adopted) after they were found as strays. Galaxy is a playful, energetic girl and enjoys being petted, held, and cuddled. Galaxy is already spayed. Kittens do best in pairs so consider adopting Galaxy and another kitten for an instant feline family!
