 Jelly
Jelly is the “spokes-cat” for our Foster Program and was just 4 weeks old when this photo was taken. We are looking for dedicated, energetic, and patient foster parents to care for underage and underweight puppies and kittens, as well as animals recovering from illness or surgery and those who need help with behavioral issues. We need foster parents to provide them with a warm, friendly place to live until they can be considered for adoption. Foster parents will care for animals in their own homes on a temporary basis. Parents will feed, socialize, medicate, groom, and train foster animals according to the guidelines set forth by the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. The time commitment may range from a few days to several weeks, from a few hours a day to around-the-clock care, depending upon the age and situation of each fosterling. The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria will provide you with the training and supplies that you and your young charges require. You provide the tender loving care and attention these fosterlings crave. Fostering a young animal can be hard work. It can be difficult, frustrating, and sometimes heartbreaking. It also is one of the most rewarding experiences an animal lover can have. Fostering saves lives!  Jackson
Jackson is an 8-year-old Bengal. He’s full of personality and loves being the center of attention! Jackson was brought to the shelter because he wasn’t a good match for his previous adopters. He’s now looking forward to finding a new home where he can shine! Jackson enjoys being petted, held, and cuddled. He’s also quite a talker! Since arriving at the shelter, Jackson has told us that he loves meeting new people, being lavished with attention, and spending all day luxuriating in a comfy lap. He also enjoys playing with cat toys. Jackson can become a bit overstimulated when playing, so he would do best in a home without small children. Pepper is a 5-year-old Domestic Short Hair. He’s a handsome boy who’s looking for that special someone he can cuddle up with at night. Could it be you? Pepper was brought to the shelter because his previous guardian was deploying with the military. Pepper is a friendly, laid-back guy who loves meeting new people - especially ones with warm, comfy laps! He is also a big fan of pets and chin scratches. Pepper has a very playful side and loves entertaining himself with balls and other cat toys. He’s a go-with-the-flow kinda guy and is always up for playing a game or just sitting back and watching a game with you!  Tiger Mills
Tiger Mills is a 4-year-old Domestic Short Hair. He’s a lover, not a fighter! Tiger Mills was brought to the shelter because his previous guardians could no longer afford to care for him. He’s a friendly, laid-back gentleman who loves being showered with attention. Tiger Mills loves meeting new people, especially ones who treat him to lots of pets, cheek scratches, head rubs, and any other form of affection. He also enjoys being held and cuddled while he luxuriates on a comfy lap. Tiger Mills has a very tolerant, laid-back personality and would probably enjoy living with other cats or a cat-friendly dog. Austin is a 7-month-old Domestic Short Hair. She’s a fun girl who’s looking for a forever home this time around. Austin was brought to the shelter because she didn’t get along with a dog in her previous home. Like most young cats, she's very energetic and loves to play with her cat toys and other cats. Austin would love to be adopted into a home that already has a playful resident cat, or to be adopted with another young cat here at the shelter. She enjoys being treated to pets and head rubs.
