The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is proud of its own local-access TV show, Alexandria Animal Matters. The weekly show features animal professionals and guests who talk about varying aspects of animal health, care, welfare, humane education and a host of other topics sure to interest viewers of all ages. Each show includes an animal segment featuring a Shelter animal typical of those available for adoption.
Shows to date have included features on wildlife, the connection between domestic violence and animal cruelty, training and using service dogs for the blind. We have also featured animals of all kinds: an iguana, hamsters, guinea pigs and of course dogs and cats. We've also talked about special needs animals and some reasons why adopting an older animal is sometimes advantageous.
We invite you, the viewer, to submit to us your feedback and suggestions for program topics that you'd like to see in the future.
Our airtime is Tuesdays at nine o'clock (9 pm) on Alexandria Cable Channel #69. There are two new shows each month. Tune in and enjoy.
