Behavior and Training Manager (posted: May 28, 2010)
The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is seeking applications for a full-time Behavior and Training Manager. The Behavior and Training Manager is responsible for developing, refining, and implementing internal and external animal training and behavior programs for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. This position oversees animal training classes, behavior evaluations for incoming shelter dogs and environmental and social enrichment for shelter dogs and cats. The Behavior and Training Manager will also provide animal guardians with behavioral advice and facilitate adopter support.

The tasks and responsibilities of this position require a high degree of customer service skills, the ability to exercise good judgment and a background in positive, reward-based training/animal handling. CPDT certification and prior animal sheltering experience required.
